Tour Plan

Day 01 Tangier – The Crossroads of Civilizations

The journey commences in Tangier which serves as a meeting point of different cultures and historical backgrounds along two continents. During your walk through the labyrinth medina you will be drawn to the Spanish Portuguese and Moorish architectural fusion. Traditional Moroccan life can be viewed while walking through bustling markets where one finds textiles along with spices and handmade products. From the Kasbah you can admire the Mediterranean Sea and the Strait of Gibraltar while you walk.

From the city center stretches Cape Spartel which provides visitors with a stunning overlook at the point where Atlantic Ocean waters merge with Mediterranean waters. You can get to the Caves of Hercules by taking a brief car journey from your current location since they lie near this spot. The sunset brings an opportunity to relax inside a traditional riad while getting ready for the future cultural discoveries in Chefchaouen.

Day 02 Chefchaouen – The Blue Pearl of Morocco

The Rif Mountains embrace Chefchaouen as one of North Africa's most picturesque towns which captivates its visitors through its captivating blue-colored architectural walls. Every section of the medina area invites photographers because it contains tight passageways and beautiful markets plus entranceways featuring detailed art. Walking through its vibrant streets will lead you to a state of serenity which distinguishes Chefchaouen from other Moroccan cities.

Visitors can discover the history of Chefchaouen by visiting the Kasbah of Chefchaouen situated in the main square. You should climb to the highest point of the fort to see the entire blue city spread out before you. A short evening trek to the Spanish Mosque will reveal one of Morocco’s most impressive sunset views as the mountains reflect the orange and pink skies across the horizon.

Day 03 Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

The travel route now leads us from Chefchaouen through the spectacular Roman ruins of Volubilis which carry the distinction of UNESCO World Heritage site. You will find ancient mosaics together with massive columns and grand arches which display Morocco's Roman historical narrative at this location. The archaeological site reveals the feeling of returning to historical epochs when you walk through its ruins.

From our journey we move toward Meknes that stands as one of four Moroccan imperial cities. Bab Mansour stands as North Africa's most beautiful gate and also leads you to the Royal Stables and Hedim Square. The journey ends in Fes where you stay in a riad within the spiritual and cultural center of Morocco.

Day 04 Fes – The Cultural Capital

The historic origins and dynamic cultural traditions live within the Moroccan metropolis of Fes. Your first activity of the day should lead you to Fes el-Bali's medina because it sits as both a UNESCO World Heritage site and the biggest constantly pedestrian-accessible urban space in the world. You can explore unique treasures in the Fes el-Bali medina because its narrow alleys lead to ancient mosques together with vibrant markets featuring artisan crafts from leather pieces to masterful ceramic items.

Fes residents should make it a point to visit Al-Qarawiyyin University which stands as the oldest university in the world since 859 AD. A visit to the Chouara Tannery allows you to witness leather dyeing that occurs through traditional methods which produces a spectacular and colorful display. Experience a stunning panorama throughout Fes by seeing Borj Nord fortress at the end of your day.

Day 05 Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud

Carrying on a voyage through different Moroccan terrains begins at Ifrane which residents affectionately dub "Little Switzerland" due to its European dwellings and Alpine climate. Visiting Midelt gives travelers enough time to enjoy its special character before proceeding to this mountain town positioned between the two Atlas mountain ranges that is known for its apple farms and lovely views.

The way down from the highlands reveals arid stretches of plateaus and fresh oases along the path. The path passes through the spectacular Ziz Valley as thousands of palm trees extend to the distant point. The destination of Erfoud welcomes us after nightfall since this town serves as the primary entry point to the Sahara Desert before starting your desert expedition.

Day 06 Sahara Desert – A Night Under the Stars

A main feature of this tour takes you into the enormous Sahara Desert. In an exhilarating 4x4 dune crossing you will encounter the camels that start your surreal journey across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Traveling through the endless desert produces a remarkable feeling because the only sounds are the gentle stepping motions of camels among the silence.

The dunes magically change their color to gold and amber when the sun descends. Your arrival at a desert camp of luxury will lead you to a traditional Berber dining experience under a starry night sky. Throughout the night people share stories while listening to music while feeling a strong connection with the peaceful desert landscape.

Day 07 Merzouga – Midelt – Meknes

We start our return to the imperial cities following a sunrise observation over the dunes before daylight begins. Our journey leads us first through the beautiful Ziz Gorges before reaching Midelt for lunch then continues towards Meknes. During your evening you can take a relaxed tour of the city and if preferred you can visit local cafés to enjoy the atmosphere.

Day 08 Meknes – Rabat – Assilah

The capital city of Morocco awaits us this morning as we journey to Rabat. During your stop in Rabat you will see Hassan Tower and the magnificent Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the seaside charm of Kasbah of the Udayas with its Atlantic Ocean vistas. From Rabat we travel along the coastline to discover Assilah which stands out because of its captivating artistic murals and its clean beaches and peaceful environment.

The historic white medina area of Assilah reveals its Mediterranean characteristics to anyone who explores its streets. The evening brings an opportunity to sample fresh seafood before walking along the shoreline to enjoy this quiet beach location.

Day 09 Assilah – Tangier

Spend your last morning in Assilah at a calm pace before you return to Tangier. Your last travel hours in Morocco could enable you to explore local attractions and make final purchases before leaving behind the beautiful landscapes and cultural charm of this country.

The 9-day Tangier-based private trip brings travelers an experiential adventure that blends between discoveries of historic sites with adventure and tranquil moments. The itinerary affords visitors both stunning Saharan landscapes and remarkable ancient ruins as well as serenity in Assilah which culminates in cherished memories.
